Catherine (Canada), me and Lock (Aussie) on top of La Nariz (the nose) proudly representing the former British colonies.
Picture of me hiking up La Nariz taken by Catherine and stolen from her blog at ballofdirt.com
On our way back down the mountain, yes, my picturesque back again. Catherine and I made the time speed by, by singing songs from the Sound of Music and any other musical we could think of. For some reason Lock did not join us.

Gahh! Backlighting! Still, nicely framed. That is sublimely beautiful countryside. It’s no Salinas lettuce fields, but it’s not bad.

just look at those nutrient poor soils! not enough plant photos! Hey, have you found the mimosas whose pinnately compout leaves close when you touch them? It’s a tiny little weedy prostrate plant with littly showy acacia like flowers (meaning numerous stamens…… and I think they’re pink). Anyways be on the look out for them. I love those touch-sensitive plants!!
Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensitive_plant for a photo so you can recognize it and join in the fun!

Who are all these people who keep writing to you about plants, Becca?
BTW I did a Google search on “mujers de pan” and “drug mules” was what came up…
I’m enjoying following your adventures from Columbia. Have fun and be safe.

Yeah, Kate, after I left Columbia, I met some strange people, nothing like the ones I knew in CoMo. As for you Mark, backlighting was the goal, thank you. As for Kerry, I will dutifuly go around touching all the plants I find to see if they curl up and die under my black tumb.
